Bantwal, Feb 8: The owner of a hotel in Kudrebettu, near Kalladka, displayed honesty by returning a bag containing gold and cash to its rightful owner, who had visited his hotel for tea and accidentally left the bag behind.
A group of individuals from Tamil Nadu had visited Mangaluru for business purposes and stopped at the newly opened Samudra Hotel in Kudrebettu near Kalladka on their way back to Bengaluru. While having tea, they inadvertently left behind a bag containing gold and cash worth lacs on the table. The vigilant owner of the hotel, Karunkara Shetty, noticed the bag and securely kept it. He then contacted the owner through the mobile number found on the bag.
Meanwhile, the owner of the bag and their family had already returned to Bengaluru. However, upon being informed, they promptly returned to Kudrebettu to retrieve the bag. Grateful for Shetty's honesty, they expressed their heartfelt thanks.
In a display of gratitude, the family intended to present a gift to Shetty, but he graciously declined and instead treated them with kindness before they returned to Mangaluru.
