Udupi, Feb 6: Energy minister Karnataka state government K J George on Tuesday February 6 visited Udupi church, Sri Krishna Math and Jamia Masjid here and set an example of communal harmony.
The minister visited the Udupi bishop's house in Udupi and also paid a visit to Mother of Sorrows church, Udupi. Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, vicar general diocese of Udupi welcomed George and felicitated him. He also took a note of various diocesan projects and suggested the use of governmental schemes for the project implementation. Fr Denis D'Sa, PRO diocese of Udupi Fr Romeo Lewis, parish priest Manipal church Fr Alban D’souza, rector St Lawrence Basilica Attur deacon Stephen and others were present.
Minister George also visited Udupi Sri Krishna Math and received the darshan of Lord Shri Krishna. He also visited Paryaya Puttige Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha swamiji and seeked his blessings. He was enlightened by the swamiji about the various paryaya projects, swamiji also gifted George a Bhagavad Gita.
George also visited Udupi Jamia Masjid later. Khateeb of the mosque Abdulrashid Nadvi conducted the dua prayer on the occasion. Mosque committee president Riyaz Ahmed and others were present on the occasion.
