Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Sep 20: In general, rainfall continued to be scarce in Karnataka coast on Monday September 19, although there had been light rains in a few places in the afternoon. Karkala in Udupi district and Subrahmanya in Dakshina Kannada district experienced intermittent rains.

Gokarna in Uttara Kannada district registered ten cm of rainfall, which was highest in the state. The other regions in the state’s coast registered an average of four to six cm of rainfall, mainly because of the rains which soaked the coast on Sunday night.

A release by the meteorological department predicted normal to good rains in most places on the coast, some places in southern hinterland, and  a couple of places in northern hinterland.
