Kundapur, Feb 2: Deputy commissioner (DC) of Udupi district Dr Vidyakumari said that sufficient government land is not available to allot land to the Koraga community as per the Mohammed Peer report that was submitted to government 30 years ago.

Vidyakumar spoke with the media after partaking in the valedictory function of Basket manufacturing training camp that was held at Nada-Padukone.

The DC further said, “Instructions are given to revenue officers to give details of government land availability. Based on the report, land will be distributed. Some others have applied under Akrama Sakrama. It will be verified and implemented.”

Replying to a query of no connecting road to approach Maraswamy-Nada bridge, Vidyakumari said that she will inspect the same and take necessary action. To the query on not holding gram panchayat elections for Hosadu panchayat to which Senapura village is added recently, DC said that the proposal is with the government and verification is going on. DC refused to answer the query on Parashuram Theme Park of Karkala.
