Udupi, Jan 27: Minister of Women's and Children's Development, Differently Abled, Senior Citizens, and Udupi District In-Charge Minister, Lakshmi R Hebbalkar, assured her unwavering support for her party workers during a meeting in Udupi.
Hebbalkar emphasized the importance of activists, considering them the lifeblood of the Congress party. She declared, "I am always in favor of party activists. Activists are the backbone of the Congress party, and there is no question of discarding them." Sharing her journey within the party, she highlighted her rise from grassroots levels to becoming a state minister. Despite setbacks in the 2013 Vidhan Sabha and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Hebbalkar remained resilient, securing victories in subsequent elections with significant margins.
Addressing activists, she emphasized the familial nature of the Congress party, urging unity and resilience. Hebbalkar stated, "Even though we might have lost all the seats in Udupi, let us all unite without getting disappointed and strengthen the party together." She pledged to allocate time to meet activists during future visits to Udupi district, encouraging everyone to work towards the party's success in upcoming elections.
Addressing concerns about subpar work at Karkala Parashurama Theme Park, Hebbalkar assured that there would be no protection for wrongdoers, emphasizing that the Chief Minister would make decisions in this regard.
The meeting witnessed the expression of disappointment by several activists. District president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Vidhan Parishad member Manjunath Bhandary, Prasad Kanchan, Ramesh Kanchan, and other leaders were also present.
