Kundapura, Jan 25: The taluk administration and taluk legal services committee and the department of prosecution jointly held the National Voters Day 2024 at Lakshmi Narasimha Kala Mandira, Kundapura Pre-University College.
A voters awareness rally was taken out earlier that started from Government Pre-University College, Kundapura, progressed via old bus stand, flower market and concluded at the college premises.
Kundapura additional district and sessions judge Abdul Rahim Hussain who inaugurated the programme said that everybody above the age of 18 years has the right to vote in our country. “Every voter should set aside his individual selfishness and join hands sincerely for the growth of the country,” he said.
Basrur Sharada College politics lecturer Dr Vishwanath Acharya gave further details about the elections. Kundapura assistant divisional officer Rashmi S R presided over the programme. Senior civil judge Raju N, chief civil and JMFC judge Shruthi S, Kundapura DySP Belliappa K U, Taluk panchayat executive officer in-charge Prashanth V Rao, block education officer Shobha Shetty, Government Pre-University College principal B G Ramakrishna, Advocates' Association president Bannadi Somanath Hegde, assistant public prosecutor Udayakumar B A, Advocates' Association chief secretary Srinath Rao, Tahsildar Shobhalaxmi H S and Tahsildar Srikanth S Hegde were present.
