Karkala, Jan 25: The fifth day of the feast of St Lawrence at Karkal Attur Basilica was observed on Thursday, January 25. This day was dedicated to Our Lady of Gratitude, offering special prayers for all the parishioners of Karkal Attur Shrine Parish. The masses for the day were celebrated by Fr Vishal Monis from Kayyar, Fr David Chikkamagaluru, Fr Francis Cornelio from Padukone, Fr Denis D’Sa Thottam, Fr Ronald Cardoza from Chikkamagaluru, Fr Valerian Mendonca from Kallianpur, Fr Francline D’Souza from Shivamogga, and Fr Stany Pinto from Puttur.

The theme for the day was "Pray with Humility." The main mass, presided over by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, took place at 10 am. In his homily, Bishop Saldanha emphasized the significance of praying with humility, stating, "A prayer made with humility pierces the clouds, and God hears those prayers." The final mass of the day was celebrated at 10 pm, with prayers offered for the sick after every mass.

Throughout the day, confessional ministry was conducted by more than 25 priests. Fr Alban D'Souza, the rector of the Shrine, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the organization of the feast. The concluding festal mass for the feast of St. Lawrence will take place on January 26 at 5 PM.
