Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Sep 17: Less than twenty days after a hoax bomb threat created panic in Mangalore's MCC building, a similar call was received at a police station here claiming that a bomb had been placed at Kanaka Gopura of Sri Krishna Temple.

Soon after the anonymous call was made, police officers rushed to the spot with dog squads and conducted a thorough search.

However, nothing substantial was found and the call was declared a hoax. The search lasted for nearly three hours.

Nevertheless, the police are not taking any chances, and have deployed extra security at all the entrances of the temple.

Police officials said that efforts are on to trace the caller.

On August 30, Mangalore experienced a similar situation when an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb would go off at MCC building. However, nothing was found.
