Karkala, Sep 15: Vasant (48), who was working as assistant sub-inspector of Hebri police station, went missing since Monday September 12 evening. On Monday evening, he left the police station after attending to duties, but was not seen thereafter.
His wife, Pravati, filed a complaint in Hebri police station in this connection on Wednesday September 14. She said that she was informed by her husband over phone on Monday evening that he was returning home. She said Vasant did not reach his residential quarters located at the police quarters at Indiranagar, Hebri. She also revealed that efforts to trace him by contacting relatives, friends and hospitals, have proved futile.
Vasant, a native of Handadi near Brahmavar, was working in this police station since the last seven months. His wife said that Vasant, who suffered from an abscess in the abdomen area two months back, had got treatment for the same, but that he continued to suffer bouts of pain, adversely affecting his mood, even thereafter.
Vasant, a lean person having good personality and pleasant manners, maintained good relationship with colleagues. He was honest in discharging his duties. Hebri station house officer, Santosh Shetty said that the missing case of the official is being pursued in all earnestness.
