Kasargod, Sep 15: Retired general manager of Campco Ltd, V Ananta Padmanabha Naik (78), and resident of Vorkady Kapri in the district, breathed his last in a hospital in Mangalore on Wednesday September 14. He is survived by wife, a son, and three daughters.
After securing his engineering degree, Naik pursued higher education in countries like Nigeria and Czechoslovakia. He also worked as guest lecturer in these countries, before being chosen as the Indian representative for Kubota Power Tillers. In 1971, he was appointed as the chief manager of Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd, the youngest ever to be chosen for that post.
After working as a lecturer at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore for four years, he functioned as general manager of Campco in Puttur. Later, he opted for voluntary retirement, and got busy with social activities and agriculture.
