Mumbai, Jan 12: Billava Seva Sangha Kundapur Mumbai, started for the unity and welfare of its Kundapur origin community members residing in Mumbai held their 36th anniversary at King George high school auditorium, Dadar east on January 7. The programme consisted of singing and dances, felicitation and distribution of scholarships to students.
Udaya Rama, social activists Badlapur Sushila S Poojary, Dr Shekar Hemmadi, Vishwanatha A Poojary of the sangha, Pradeep Poojary, Ramesh J Billava, Babu C Poojary, Ramesh A Billava, Ashok N Poojary, Narasimha M Billava, Ananda K Poojary, Rajashree P Salian, Yashodha Sathish Poojary, Deepa Y Poojary, Sridhar V Poojary and others were on the dais. They felicitated former president, advocate Ananda M Poojary and his wife, advocate Shakuntala Poojary by shawl, memento, fruits and flowers. Deserving students were also felicitated.
Udaya Rama, Sushila S Poojary and Dr Shekar Hemmadi addressed the gathering. Advocate Ananda Poojary and advocate Shakuntala Ananda Poojary spoke reciprocating to the felicitation. Surya Poojary called on youth to indulge in the activities of the sangha. “Everybody should take up responsibilities and try to make the sangha more creative. Let us unite the community members that are not the members of the sangha and try to take the activities of the sangha to its peak,” he said.
Baby R Poojary and Yashodha S Poojary sang a prayer. Vice president Ananda K Poojary welcomed the dignitaries. Vice president Narasimha Billava gave a keynote address. Honorary chief secretary Ashok Poojary introduced the guests. Harish N Poojary compered the cultural programme. Lakshman Poojary Koderi compered the hall programme. Harish N Poojary proposed a vote of thanks. Members of the sangha performed various dances.
