Udupi, Sep 14: State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) chairman Dr S R Nayak held a meeting with district officials at Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday September 13. He also accepted general grievances on the occasion.
Addressing the departmental officers, Dr Nayak said that there are many people in undivided Dakshina Kannada district without a roof over their heads. “The police force has been misusing their authority to exploit the people rather than protect them. One has to be free from the tentacles of globalization that concentrate national wealth in the hands of a few people, and instead work for equality among all people. The departments should set an example in banning plastic in its offices, thereby striving for an eco-friendly environment,” added Dr Nayak.
