Mangalore: Retired PSI Dies During Sabarimala Pilgrimage

Mangalore, Sep 12: Ramakrishna (60), retired sub-inspector of police (PSI), died of cardiac arrest while on pilgrimage to Sabarimala recently. He had retired on July 31 this year, after serving the police department for 40 years.

Ramakrishna, a native of Kotikulam in Kasargod district, had worked at Kundapur, Bunder police station and special branch in the city, apart from passport division of the office of the police commisionerate here.

He was living with family at his own house in Pandeshwar here. He had undertaken Sabarimala pilgrimage with some of his friends from police department and others. Sources in the police department said he suffered cardiac arrest while ascending Sabarimala hill on Friday.

He is survived by wife, a son, and two daughters.
