Beltangady, Sep 12: “Social and economic inequalities are contributing to disharmony in society. It’s essential to change the mindset of backward communities in order to lead them to progress. Continuous inspiration must be given to them to help them attain prosperity,” said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, chairman, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP).
Dr Heggade was speaking at the valedictory function of the refresher camp for the directors and project officers of SKDRDP on Saturday September 10.
SKDRDP trustee Hemavati V Heggade said that those who are involved in social welfare activities must develop a keen interest in societal progress. “It will give them insight into people’s issues and enable them to work better,” she added.
SKDRDP chief executive officer Dr L H Manjunath delivered the introductory address. HRD director Manorama Bhat welcomed the gathering. Rural Excellence Centre principal Harish Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
