Mumbai, Dec 31: Deepak Bhanushali, a Pestom Sagar resident who originally hails from Bhachunda village in Kutch, Gujarat, created a world record by singing 151 songs of legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi continuously for 12 hours from 9 am to 9 pm at SNDT Hall. Ghatkopar on December 25 and entered the list of World Records.
His name got registered in OMG Book of Records, in their 2024-2025 edition. This programme was presented by LD Entertainment and The Voice of Indian in collaboration with Rafi Foundation Trust on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of the evergreen singer of Hindi films, the great Mohammad Rafi.
For achieving this record, he was honoured and awarded with a certificate, medal and trophy.
As many as 151 songs were sung continuously in the entire programme, out of which 75 solo songs were presented by Deepak Bhanushali alone and 76 duet songs were presented by his life partner Leena Deepak Bhanushali and her daughter Drishti Bhanushali and students of LD Karaoke Classes.
This was a record-breaking event and achievement in the world of music and a memorable experience for all those who participated in this supernatural and incredible event were part of this golden moment.
The journey from a child who used to sing gleefully on his way back from work with a walkman in his hand now won the world record medal. Industrialist and award King Hiralal Mrugji was also a special guest. Valji Bhai Bhanushali, Dinesh Bhai Chandra Shri Naresh Bhai Shethia, president of Kutchi Bhanushali Seva Samaj Trust, was present along with music conductor Nandu Kelkar. Anchoring was done by Prakash Chand, Neela Jani and Hetal Gosar.
The Pestom Sagar Citizen’s Forum felicitated Deepak Bhanushali in honour of this achievement on December 30 at the PSCF hall, Chembur. This programme was also a big success, well attended by a good number of citizens.
