Beltangady, Sep 10: “If one has the welfare of society in mind, ideas will emerge out of social concern. Only ideas will not help; they have to be put into practice. Book knowledge is not everything. Experience teaches one everything.
Issues can be solved by experience in the related field. One gets a wealth of knowledge in rural development by working with Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP),” said D Harshendra Kumar, secretary, Sri Dhamasthala Manjunateshwar Education Society.
He was speaking at the inaugural of the three-day annual refresher camp for 90 directors and project officers of SKDRDP at Dharmasthala on Thursday September 8.
Kumar urged the project officers to realise the rural empowerment dream of Dr Veerendra Heggade, chairman of SKDRDP.
SKDRDP chief executive officer Dr L H Manjunath welcomed the gathering. Human resources department director Manorama Bhat proposed the vote of thanks. Rural excellence centre principal Harish Rao compered the programme.
