Mangalore: Rain Plays Hide-and-seek

Mangalore, Sep 9: Rainfall remained subdued in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts on Thursday September 8. In comparison, places located to the north of Kundapur including various parts of Uttara Kannada district received good rains.

Sunny weather and rains appeared one after the other in Dakshina Kannada district. A number of places in Udupi district received good rains on Thursday. Coastal regions of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts received an average of two to three cm.

The roof of an Anganwadi building in Tarapati within Paduvari gram panchayat near Byndoor collapsed because of heavy wind on Thursday. The building is located near the seashore. Because of timely action of the Anganwadi teachers, the tiny tots escaped unscathed.

The meteorological department has predicted normal to heavy rains in most places of Karnataka coast and some regions in southern hinterland. This prediction is valid till Saturday morning.
