Bengaluru, Dec 19: In a surprising turn of events, the traffic police of the city have imposed a hefty fine of Rs 3.24 lakh on a scooter rider who committed 643 traffic violations, including not wearing a helmet and jumping red signals.
The scooter, bearing the registration number KA 04 KF 9072, is registered under the name of Mala. The violations were captured on cameras installed at various junctions, and the complaint has been registered under the RT Nagar traffic police limits. Authorities are currently on the lookout for both the scooter rider and owner.
Despite the estimated value of the scooter being around Rs 20,000-30,000, the rider's repeated offenses have resulted in a staggering fine amount. The news has quickly gone viral, prompting increased awareness among other riders who are now diligently following traffic rules.
Surprisingly, the offender seems undeterred by the fines, having been penalized four times on December 18 alone for not wearing a helmet.
