Mangaluru, Dec 19: The city north police station staff arrested two notorious serial thieves and recovered from them two stolen scooters and two laptops stolen. The total value of the recovered goods is about Rs 1,20,000.
The arrested accused are Mohammed Asif alias Asif alias Azmi (32) and Mohammed Safwan (21), both from Kasba Bengre.
With the duo’s arrest, the police cracked cases related to theft at Grama Seva Kendra, Padubidri, the serial thefts at Skynet mobile phone store at Kadri junction, Vinayaka Traders paint shop and from the building under construction at Kadri Kambala, serial thefts at Leela Hotel, Sharavu Enterprises, Bantwal cooperative society and the theft of scooter at north deck and Monkey stand.
Three theft cases at Mangaluru south police station, three theft cases at Bantwal town police station limits, and one case each from Mangaluru south police station and Mangaluru north police station have been solved with the arrest.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Mangaluru north police station inspector Ajmat Ali by police sub inspector Faizunnisa and station staff under directions of ACPs Siddarth Goel and Dinesh Kumar and guidance from police commissioner Anupam Agarwal.
