Mumbai, Dec 11: The Ryan Minithon 2023 of Navi Mumbai Division was held on Monday December 11, attracting the participation of 9,673 students from 17 different schools in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Thane. This event marks the 186th race for school students in the country, organized by the Ryan Group of Institutions, mentored by the founder-chairman of Ryan International Group of Institutions, Dr A F Pinto, and managing director, Madam Dr Grace Pinto. The race was flagged off from Ryan International School, Nerul, by Dr Snehal Pinto, the director of Ryan Group of Institutions, along with other esteemed guests in attendance.
The students in the age groups of U-16, U-14, and U-12, sporting their PT uniforms, ran along the marathon route with their teachers forming a continuous human chain. Since 1998, Ryan International Group of Institutions has been organizing similar races in 12 cities across India to promote active lifestyles and foster a dynamic sports culture in the country, as envisioned by Dr A F Pinto, the founder chairman, and Dr Grace Pinto, the managing director of Ryan International Group of Institutions.
St Aloysius High School, Nallasopara, clinched the Championship Trophy, while St Joseph's Kalamboli secured the second position, and Ryan Christian School, Borivali, grabbed the third position. The six fastest runners in each group also received prizes.
The event received praise from guests and parents for promoting a healthy lifestyle among the students and for being a platform that boosts the achievements of numerous athletes. A noteworthy accomplishment was Aishwarya Mishra, an alumna of the Ryan Group, who won a silver medal in the recently held Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
