Mumbai, Sep 3: Under the aegis of Maharastra Konkan Association and Konkani weekly ‘Kutam’, Konkani Manyata Divas and Konkani talent contest were held at St Francis Xavier College auditorium, Kanjurmarg, recently.

Maharastra Konkan Association president Walter D’Souza presided over the programme.

Musician Victor Concesso was the chief guest on the occasion and conducted the talent contest. The Association’s former president Benedicta Rebello, founder president Leo Fernandes, and treasurer Gratian D’Souza were present on the dais.

Veteran Konkani litterateur V D’Silva Kanjurmarg delivered the introductory address.

Konkani theater artiste Betti Vaz, musicians Kerry Fernandes, Antony Tauro, Celine D’Souza Jerimeri, and Nygil were offered floral bouquets.  
Contests were held in Konkani music, folk dance, and skits on the occasion.

Student parishioners from Mahakali, Jerimeri, Malad, Goregaon, Kanjurmarg, Byculla and other parishes participated in the event along with their parents.

Benedicta Rebello and Walter D’Souza presented prizes to the winners.

Leo Fernandes welcomed the gathering.  Vincent Castelino proposed the vote of thanks.  Cyril Castelino compered the programme while secretary Stany Dias proposed the vote of thanks.
