Bellary, Aug 31: A former police constable, who happened to be a relative and close aide of former Karnataka minister, B Sriramulu, was hacked to death with lethal weapons at Havambhavi in the district late night on Monday August 29. He has been identified as Ramachandra.
Ramachandra had been dismissed from police service for his alleged role in a murder case. He also was jailed for a short period. He had two wives, Rukmini and Nagaveni. It is said that he also had illicit relationship with another woman. Reports said that he had insatiable hunger for fair sex, and used to harass the wife of a friend since some time.
On Tuesday morning, his body was recovered. The policemen said four persons were arrested in an operation launched immediately thereafter.
Ramachandra, it is gathered, got attracted to different women. As he continued to pester the wife of one of his friends, his friend had warned him to stay away. But Ramachandra, who got fully drunk on Monday evening, visited his friend’s place and continued to make advances towards his wife. On this issue, he was involved with a heated exchange of words with his friend and some others. The police had intervened in the matter, and managed the situation from going out of control.
In a complaint lodged with the police station, Janakiram, father of the deceased, said that the quarrel which occurred the previous night had culminated in the murder of his son.
