Udupi, Nov 19: Deputy commissioner Dr Vidyakumari stressed the importance of adhering to the guidelines and rules set by the Election Commission for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, urging a transparent and honest conduct.

The DC addressed a training program organized for police inspectors and other officials assigned to election duties.

She instructed the police inspectors to visit the polling booths within their jurisdictions, provide reports on the available fundamental infrastructure, and note any untoward incidents that may have occurred there previously.

"Officials assigned to election duty must carry out their responsibilities excellently to strengthen democracy. There is no opportunity for the withdrawal of any officer from election duty," emphasized DC Dr Vidyakumari.

SP Dr Arun Kumar added, "All officials need to work in coordination to ensure a smooth election process. Reports requested by the Election Commission should be submitted promptly."

Additional DC Mamata Devi G S emphasized, "Police officers and other officials must demonstrate the usage of EVMs in public places between November 25 and the first week of February to ensure the success of the election process."
