Bangalore, Aug 29 (Express News): In a shocking incident, a police inspector's wife shot heself with her husband's revolver at her residence in Banashankari here on Sunday August 28.
The deceased Shubha (37), was married to P S Sudarshan, a police inspector at Commercial Street police station.
The couple have two children Sreehari (10) and Sreenivas (12).
According to the police, the couple had allegedly fought over domestic issues on Saturday night.
Shubha often complained of Sudharshan not involving in their children’s academic activities and did not spend much time with them.
It is said that the couple had frequent fights concerning their children’s upbringing.
Depressed over the marital discord, on Sunday morning at around 7.30 am, when the rest of her family members were asleep, Shubha shot herself.
T Suneel Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, said that the ballistic experts from FSL have examined the spot and have done the Gun Shot Powder Residue Test.
The report will further assist, if any foul play is involved behind the death. However, Shubha’s family members have not expressed doubts against Sudarshan, he said.
Another officer said that it is the responsibility of the police officer, who has the service revolver, to dismantle the revolver and the bullets when he reaches home.
He said that senior police officers are now thinking of taking action against the inspector, he added.
