Udupi, Aug 28: In a new development that only added to the mystery, the registration papers of the car from which Govardhan disappeared after four strangers hired him on Friday August 26, have been found.

An unidentified person had approached Govardhan at the car stand of KSRTC bus stand on Thursday evening, saying that his car that had developed snags at Karkala had to be brought back. Govardhan agreed to drop the person to Karkala. However, since then he has gone missing, though the car was found.

Govardhan has not been traced so far, but the registration papers were found near Adve minor culvert here on Saturday August 27.

The members of taxi drivers' union found a folder comprising registration papers, insurance etc along with Govardhan's purse below Adve minor culvert that lies three kilometres away from Padubidri on the Karkala state highway.

As the registration papers were found near the culvert, local swimming experts scanned the waters on the suspicion that Govardhan may have drowned. However, even a search by the fire brigade personnel went in vain.
