Moodbidri: Students of Diverse Culture Celebrate Iftar Party in Alva's College

Moodbidri, Aug 27: Alva's College organized Iftar meet at Shivaram Karant auditorium, Vidhyagiri, here recently.

Thousands of people including the students of diverse culture and religions participated in Iftar meet.

Alva's College has been annually celebrating Deepavali, Onam, Christmas and other feasts, Alvas Nudi Siri, national cultural extravaganza.

Speaking on the occasion, Mangalore based trader Hameed Hassan said that Ramzan is observed by Muslims as a penance to please Allah.  The need of the hour is to propagate the teachings of Prophet Mohammed Paigambar in society, in order to promote harmonious living, said Hameed Hassan.

The one who does namaz five times a day with total devotion, no obscene thoughts will ever comes to his / her mind, added Hameed Hassan.

Former MP and AICC national chief secretary Vinay Kumar Sorake said that universal celebration of every community feasts are indeed great virtue in a country of diverse cultures and religions, said Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Alva's Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva in his presidential address said that harmonious living existed as the people led life on the footsteps of elders.  The people can live with dignity by just earning, said Dr Alva.  He also urged the brethrens to live in harmony in the society.

Tahsildar Muralidar K, town councillor Ratnakar Devadiga, H M Khader Khan and others were present on the occasion. Abulal Puttige compered the programme.
