Mangaluru: Bus-cattle collision – One cow dead, another seriously injured

Mangaluru, Oct 28: A cow died and another got seriously injured as an over-speeding express bus hit them at Kodikal cross junction late night on Friday.

Durgamba Express bus was moving from Kundapur to Mandya via Mysuru.

As it reached Kodikal Cross before Kottara Chowki, it hit two cows. One died instantly, while the other got seriously injured.

As the accident occurred, locals and other motorists stopped the bus and took the driver to task. Police arrived quickly on the spot and pacified the situation.

    This actually is a scam going around in many highways where they purposely leave their animals on road and when someone hits it, they call all locals and harass the drivers to get money from this. Put the owner in a shed along with the cattle for few days

    i salute the driver for controlling the vehicle and preventing loss of human lives...these street cows, dogs etc are a menace to drivers and even pedestrians also...in the past a woman was killed in Brahmavar by a bull....but our thotte girakis wont understand...surprising that late at night they came running....seems were having some thotte and ganja below the flyover near kottara chowki....

    I don't blame the bus driver . First of all why are cows left in streets its very dangerous . Next its a black cow . Is at once visible. Sure the bus driver will not get control if the cow has come sudden .
