Media Release

Moodbidri, Oct 22: On a beautiful Sunday, Corpus Christi Church congregated to raise funds for Mission Sunday in a heartwarming event. The day was filled with devotion, unity, and generosity.

The event commenced right after the holy Mass, led by Fr Onil D’Souza, who, along with the parish pastoral committee members and various parish associations, organized the Mission Sunday auction and sale. The church came alive as parishioners gathered to partake in this charitable endeavor.

Parishioners wholeheartedly contributed an array of items for auction, including fresh vegetables, fruits, roosters, cooked meat, honey, ghee, perfumes, jaggery, and even holy blessed items from the Holy Land, such as blessed candles and Rosaries.

The offerings extended to a delectable variety of savories, featuring dishes like Pork Bafat, Pork Chilli, Chicken Sukka, Chicken Pepper, and sweet treats like Gulab Jamun, sold at stalls throughout the event.

Youth involvement was evident with the Young Catholic Students (YCS) actively collecting funds through the sale of coupons. Meanwhile, the altar servers played their part by selling drinking water bottles as part of the Mission Sunday fund collection.

The spirit of giving and community was palpable throughout the day. The church and its parishioners showcased their commitment to the mission, raising funds that will undoubtedly make a positive impact. This Mission Sunday auction and sale was not just a charitable event; it was a testament to the strength of faith and the power of community coming together to serve a greater cause. Corpus Christi Church stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, shining bright in the name of charity and mission work.
