Mangalore, Aug 23: In what may be termed as a shameful incident, a group of miscreants entered a government school in Kadri, Mallikatta in the wee hours of Tuesday August 23 and destroyed the school property, but left alone a new, yet-be-fixed fan and stereo.
They damaged the roof, water pipes, water tank and furniture among other items at the school. The students had to sit outside as every item inside their classroom was misplaced and strewn about.
This is the second time in a row that Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Government Composite school, is being targeted by miscreants. Just last week, they had damaged a few benches and other items inside the school. A case was also registered in Kadri police station, yet, the troublemakers struck again, breaking doors and destroying property.
This time, the police have decided to register a case of theft as a few water pipes have gone missing. There was an orchestra programme in the vicinity and police were also in good number on August 22 night, and hence it is suspected that the incident might have occured only after 2 am.
The management of this primary school that has 100-odd students is planning to recruit security to guard the school at night. The management is worried that next the miscreants may target important documents of the school.
Kadri police have registered a case and investigations are on.
