Mangalore, Aug 21: It was a sight to cherish as little Krishnas dressed in colourful attires stole the show at the ‘Sri Krishna Vesha Sparde’ organised at Shree Manjunatha Temple in Kadri here on Sunday August 21.
This was the 25th annual national-level 'Sri Krishna Vesha Sparde' organised by the Kalkura Pratishtana, a cultural organisation.
Speaking to Daiijiworld, Kalkura Pratishtana president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that such competitions bring out the hidden Krishna in each child, encouraging their parents to see the presence of god in their children. He further said that the competition comprised 15 different categories, and that there had been a steady flow of people at the temple all day long.
Some of the categories were Kanda Krishna for the tiny tots below one year, Muddu Krishna for toddlers between one and two years, Tunta Krishna for kids between two to three years, Balakrishna for the kindergarten kids and so on.
The competitions were held at different venues like Shree Krishna Janmashtami Samithi main stage, Abhishek hall first and second floor, Shree Ganapathi Temple, Kalyana Mantapa, Manjushree, near Kadri Kere Ashwatha Katte.
The new category introduced this year was that of Vasudeva Krishna, wherein the father of a child or mother in men's costumes could participate as Vasudeva with their child as Sri Krishna.
