Mangaluru, Oct 5: The inauguration of the Aloysian Art League – Season 3 of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, held on October 4 at Sahodaya Hall of the College.
Sr (Dr) Doris D’Souza, AC, former Principal of Patna Women’s College, Bihar and former professor of business ethics and sustainability, XLRI, Jamshedpur, was the chief guest. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, principal, presided over the programme. Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar & controller of examinations, Santhosh Notagar and Rakshitha K, the staff coordinators were present on the dais.
Fiona Tauro and Ania Crasta, the student coordinators, staff and students were present for the programme.
Dr Alwyn D’Sa gave introductory remarks and briefed about the Art League – Season 3.
Sr (Dr) Doris D’Souza, in her address said, “The concept of art has existed since human existence. Art is a multifaceted phenomenon. It is a challenging weapon and its expression brings out creativity. The art qualification improves our life and brings colour to our life. She further said the time invested on art brings returns in a thousand fold.”
Dr Praveen Martis, congratulated the organisers of Art League – Season 3 for their collaborative and collective efforts in bringing out such a unique programme. He wished the participants all the best and said that participation is important rather than winning.
Ania Crasta compered the programme. Rakshitha K. welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Fiona Tauro proposed the vote of thanks.
The valedictory of the programme was held on October 5. Dr Melwyn D'Cunha, SJ, director of Research and Development Cell, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was the chief guest.
