Mangaluru, Oct 4: In commemoration of the Birth bicentenary celebration of Venerable Mother Veronica, foundress of Apostolic Carmel congregation blood donation camp was organized on 1st of October by Ladyhill society and institutions in Association with Yenepoya Medical college, Rotary Club Mangaluru North and Lions club Cauvery.
Prayer service was conducted by Sr Magdaline A C and team. Fr Johnson Sequiera, Asst. parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church Urwa blessed and inaugurated the programme.
President of the function Sr Violet Tauro A C, joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions welcomed the gathering.
Chief guest of the Function Dr Jostol Pinto, Interventional Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Father Muller Medical college stressed the need to donate blood, so that we can become a reason for somebody’s heart beat. He also hailed the work of Mother Veronica to start a congregation in India and educate the girls. He emphasized the need to have good mindset and resonate it. Other guests on dais were Raziya Banu superintendent of Blood Bank, Yenepoya Hospital Deralakate. Prasanna Mallya, secretary of Rotary Club Mangaluru North, Usha Prabhakar president of Lions and Leo Club, Mangaluru, Cauvery and treasurer Shanthala were also present.
The programme ended with the note of gratitude expressed by Sr Jennifer Moras A C. Sr Ivy Moras A C compered the programme.
