Mangalore, Aug 18: The investigation into the rave party that activists of Bajrang Dal barged into early on Sunday August 14 is taking a new dimension now.
The police are reportedly under pressure from powerful quarters to hush-up the case, it is learnt. At the same time, they are finding it hard to handle the pressure as cases have already been registered under non-bailable offences against some of the activists.
On the other hand, the locals who had in the past given written complaints to the policemen to act against illegal late night parties at the Maharani farm house where the rave party was going on, have been alleging that police inaction had allowed illegal things to continue at this venue.
Meanwhile, commissioner of police Seemant Kumar Singh said that it was unusual for Bajrang Dal convener Sharan Pumpwell, the main accused who has been absconding, to remain untraced for so many days. Normally, police are able to trace missing persons on the basis of their mobile phone records, as it gives indication about their location.
But some reports in the media suggest that Pumpwell was reachable over the phone and could be contacted.
