Udupi, Sep 23: “Free dialysis treatment for about 50 patients deprived of the treatment at the Udupi district hospital due to irregularities is arranged at the Adarsh hospital for 15 days with monetary help from donors in the society,” said Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

He asked the health of patients who obtained the treatment at the Adarsh Hospital and discussed with Adarsh Hospital director Dr G S Chandrashekar, district hospital surgeon Dr Veena and doctors about the arrangements.

Yashpal Suvarna said that five patients obtained the treatment from Adarsh hospital today. “Preparations are made to provide the treatment according to the demand of patients in the future. Discussions were held at Dr TMA Pai hospital also for the treatment,” he said.

He said that the matter was brought several times to the notice of health minister and higher officials but they have ignored the requests and are playing with the lives of poor patients.

“The donors have come forward to reimburse the cost of dialysis on sympathy. The government should immediately provide the dialysis services properly. A request in this connection is submitted to chief minister Siddaramaiah, health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and district in charge minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar. The government should also provide Arogya Bhagya to poor patients along with other free Bhagyas,” he said.
