Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 5: Rains which disappeared for the past few days poured again on Monday in various parts of twin districts and brought respite from heat. Heavy rains are still continues to pour in Mangaluru on Tuesday morning also.
On Monday, the weather was cloudy right from the morning. Bantwal, Halady, Thekkatte in Kundapur received good rains. Moderate rains showered in Puttur, Mangaluru city, Beltangady and Subramanya.
The weather was cloudy in Udupi, Manipal and Karkala but the rains were not very heavy. Moderate rains showered towards the evening.
For Tuesday, there is no alert declared by the weather department for the coastal region. However, from Wednesday, three days of yellow alert is issued. There is forecast of rain accompanied by thunder.
Heavy rains lashed Sullia city, Jalsoor, Ivarnadu, Bellare, Edamangala, Panja, Sampaje, Aranthodu, Mandekolu and Kollamogru.
The maximum temperature recorded in Mangaluru was 30.6 deg C and minimum was 24 deg C.
