Mangaluru, Sep 1: The police department in Mangaluru has established a set of guidelines for the upcoming Krishna Janmashtami and Mosaru Kudike celebrations. These guidelines are intended to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of these events.
Organizers of the Janmashtami programme must obtain prior permission from the police department. This is a crucial requirement to ensure that the event is conducted in compliance with local regulations and to maintain public safety.
Regarding the traditional activity of Mosaru Kudike, organizers are advised that the pots used in this event should be tied up to a maximum height of 14 feet. No items other than the pots themselves should be attached to them, and their placement should not obstruct public transport routes.

In addition, it is emphasized that cold water should not be splashed on the volunteers who are involved in breaking the pots. This is to prevent any inconvenience or discomfort to the participants.
The procession route for the event should strictly adhere to the route finalized by the police department to avoid any potential traffic disruptions or safety issues.
Organizers are also reminded to exercise caution when tying the pots and setting up still images to avoid any interference with electric cables. Adequate lighting along the procession routes is essential to ensure the safety of all participants.
To address any potential emergencies, organizers are required to arrange for a well-equipped ambulance to be on standby during the event.
Permission from the police department is mandatory for the use of loudspeakers during the event, and such usage is allowed only until 10 pm in accordance with the orders of the Supreme Court. The use of DJ equipment is strictly prohibited.
Furthermore, organizers should refrain from using firecrackers near hospitals and in crowded areas, and such activities should cease after 10 pm.
To maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the event, organizers are expected to promptly remove all banners, flexes, and decorations related to the programme immediately after its conclusion.
Volunteers should also be actively involved in identifying suitable parking spaces for vehicles arriving for the programme to prevent road obstructions.
Lastly, organizers are encouraged to cooperate fully with the police department and follow their instructions to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the event.
Regarding loudspeakers specifically, they should only be set up after obtaining the necessary permission from the police department and should only be used during the hours specified by the authorities. The use of DJ equipment is strictly prohibited, and loudspeakers should not be placed near hospitals or educational institutions to avoid disruptions.
These guidelines have been put in place to ensure the safety and success of the Krishna Janmashtami and Mosaru Kudike celebrations while maintaining peace and order in the community.
