Bangalore, August 10: Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore Archdiocese has turned 70 and celebrated his birthday in a quiet and simple manner.
However, the Archbishop, who has endeared himself to the faithful and the religious due to his simple living, hardwork and sincerity besides the strenuous and concerted efforts to bring transparency in the financial administration of the Archdiocese was flooded with a large number of religious priests and nuns as well as faithful, especially leaders of different lay organizations since morning.
``It is like any other day for me. I continue my work and am grateful to the religious and faithful for the abundant love, blessings, greetings and support,” he said.
The Archbishop originally hails from Kuppepadavu in coastal Dakshina Kannada and had served as Director of Fr Mullers Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore, St John’s Academy of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Bangalore and had served the Catholic Church in different capacities. He had also served as the Bishop of Belgaum.
