Udupi, Aug 31: The National Service Planning Cell, Department of Education, Bengaluru, NSS Unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi jointly organized a one-day hands-on training program on PFMS for the NSS Program officers of Mangaluru division on August 31 in the institute premises.
Maruthi, deputy director, Department of Education, Udupi District was the chief guest and inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address to the gathering, he said that the primary function of PFMS today is to facilitate a sound public financial management system for the government of India by establishing an efficient fund flow system as well as a payment cum accounting network. He also said that PFMS provides various stakeholders with a real time, reliable and meaningful management information system and an effective decision support system, as part of the Digital India initiative of Government of India.
Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, in his presidential address, expressed his gratitude to the team from District Directorate, PFMS, Udupi for imparting such training and urged the participants to get maximum benefits from the training.
The resource persons for the training program were Kyathegowda S P, lecturer and NSS program officer, PES, PU College, Mandya, Purushothama Shetty, lecturer, Vivekananda PU College, Mundaje, Yathiraj, lecturer, Padua, PU College, Mangaluru. The training programme was organized to familiarize the user agencies with various modules of PFMS and to overcome the difficulties and build capacity among the NSS program officers and dealing assistants. They all focused on different PFMS modules, such as General Provision Fund (GPF)/Pension, Employees Information System (EIS), Non-Tax Receipt Portal (NTRP), Public Accounts Office (PAO), CCDO and Banking Module during the training session.On this occasion, two students, Ananya and Chinmayee from Govindadasa PU college, Surathkal were felicitated for their wonderful performance in National Integration Camp.
Earlier Jayashankara, NSS program officer, PPC, Adamaru, welcomed the gathering; Savitha Yermal, divisional officer, Mangaluru Division, briefed about the program.
Hithashree, invoked the blessings from the Almighty. The program was compeered by Chandana. Pundarikaksha Kodancha, principal, SVH PU College, Innanje proposed a vote of thanks. More than 80 NSS program officers from Udupi, Mangaluru and Kodagu participated in the training program and benefited.
