Mangaluru, Aug 29: The speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly U T Khader visited his alumnus, St Gerosa School, Jeppu, on Monday August 28.
Former secretary of The Sisters of Charity Educational Society Sr Lucy Pereira, joint secretary of St Gerosa High School and the Headmistress of Primary Sr.Arpitha Crasta, Headmistress of High School Dr Sr Vinisha Lobo, headmistress of kindergarten Sr Jecintha D'Cunha, the staff, and the students organized a remarkable felicitation programme.
The programme was hosted by Juliana. It started with a prayer dance by the primary students. A warm welcome was given by Sr Arpita Crasta to the honorable guest U T Khader and everyone present there. A glimpse of the guest was read out by Dr Sr Vinisha Lobo. Sheila Pinto thanked everyone, especially the chief guest for giving his precious time. The programme ended with the pride of singing the school anthem.
In his response, U T Khader said that he is happy to be with the Gerosian family and he recalled his childhood memories like going to the chapel to say the prayer during the exams, eating ‘Bella’ candy, taking part in the competitions and games.
He had a conversation with the students and gave guidance to them to reach their goals with a focus.
As a speaker, he said, “I am a friend of the opposition party. Hence, I am impartial. I must make everyone responsible and ensure order and discipline within the assembly.”
