Kolkata, Aug 9 (IANS) Industrial conglomerate RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group will invest over Rs.150 crore in the education sector, building four educational institutions in Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Kerela, said group chairman Sanjiv Goenka Tuesday.
"We would be investing over Rs.150 crore in building world class educational institutes in Delhi and Bhubaneswar in the next 12 months. We are still in the conceptual stage about the projects in Andhra (Pradesh) and Kerela," said Sanjiv after unveiling the International Management Institute (IMI) here.
The Rs.100 crore institute will offer two-year post-graduate diploma course in management. Former director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata Ashish Bhattacharya has been appointed as the director.
Last month, Sanjiv launched his new group corporate identity RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group following RPG Enterprises chairman emiritus Rama Prasad Goenka's declaration early last year that the ownership of the Rs.18,000 crore turnover group would be divided between his two sons - Sanjiv and Harsh.
"I am very happy to be associated with the project. Our endeavour will be to make the institute a centre of excellence," Bhattacharya told IANS.
The sprawling IMI has been built on an area of 2.8 lakh square feet.
