Mangaluru, Aug 24: A bus conductor from Nurm at Kumpala instructed five primary school girls to disembark from the bus on Thursday, August 24, since they did not carry Aadhaar cards. The incident led to local residents stopping the bus and confronting the conductor.
Hussain Sab I Hallura, the conductor of the government bus plying the route from Mangaluru to Kumpala, informed the girls, who were in second and third grades, that they could not travel without an Aadhaar card.
The girls had boarded the bus after school on this particular day.
Since their regular bus conductor did not typically ask for Aadhaar cards, they had not brought them along. However, as the regular conductor was on leave, Hussain Sab was on duty. Gulabi, the headmistress of the Kumpala government school, was present on the bus during the incident.
In the evening, local residents halted the bus in front of Kumpala school and addressed the issue with the conductor. A local resident named Yashwant contacted KSRTC officer Ramya, urging action against the conductor for his treatment of the young school children.
