Bangalore, Aug 8: The Sadananda Gowda-led state government is expected to start functioning in full swing starting Monday August 8 evening with 21 ministers of the cabinet set to take oath, according to BJP sources.
At 5.30 pm, governnor H R Bhardwaj will administer the oath of office to the ministers.
Though, differences between Yeddyurappa and Shettar factions have been temporarily rectified, the patch-up may not last for long, it is learnt. Some of the MLAs from Shettar's camp has been demanding cabinet posts, but Shettar assured them ministerial positions in the next cabinet expansion.
Finance and mining portfolios have reportedly been kept by chief minister Sadananda Gowds himself.
Almost all ministers who were in the Yeddyurappa regime (Except Reddys & Co) are expected to retain their portfolios, with some minor reshuffle. According to sources two leaders from the coastal cities of Karnataka, Dr V S Acharya and Krishna J Palemar, will remain in the cabinet.
Highly placed sources in BJP say that there will be no deputy CM's post in Karnataka. The BJP high command is against creating such a post as no other BJP-ruled states have it.
Ten members from the Shettar camp and 11 from Yeddyurappa camp will be sworn in this evening, it is learnt.
