Brahmavar, Aug 16: GM Vidyaniketan Public School and GM Global School jointly celebrated the 77th Independence Day in a grand manner.

Col Dr Francis Rodriguez (retd) was the chief guest for the programme. Addressing the gathering, he said, “We got freedom as a result of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters’ lives. We should respect our motherland. Our independent life should not cause pain to others. Along with education, students should adopt patriotism, life values and develop qualities to face failure positively.”

Principal George Kurian hoisted the tricolour and gave his Independence Day wishes.

Pranav Shetty, principal of GM Global School said, “India is one of the leading countries in the world. All of us born in India are blessed. Today, our responsibility in the development of the country is high.”

Prakashchandra Shetty, president management committee said, “Along with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the spirit of unity and patriotism should resonate among everyone.”

More than 2,000 students witnessed the beautiful occasion which was filled with tricolours.

The fancy dress of the leaders of India was also presented by the students. Scouts and guides’ wing of the institute, Guna, Medha, Vidya, Pragya, Shraddha and students of Global School presented a mesmerizing march fast. Cultural programme of the students spread the vibe of unity and patriotism. Tara Prakashchandra Shetty, member of school management committee, GM and GM Global School's teaching staff and student were present.
