Bantwal, Aug 16: The Orientation Day for the 1-year degree BCom and BCA students at Carmel College Modankap was successfully organized to welcome and introduce the new batch to the college environment. The event aimed to familiarize the students with the college facilities, rules, and activities.

The programme commenced with an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the beginning of a new journey. The resource person for the event was Prof H S Fernandes, former principal, a distinguished academician known for his expertise in the field. His insightful address provided students with valuable insights into the importance of higher education and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Sr Roslide joint secretary was the chief guest. Her presence added a sense of inspiration and encouragement for the new students. Ms. Tejasvi, an alumni of Carmel College Modankap, shared her experiences and journey during her time at the college. Her anecdotes resonated with the students, illustrating the transformational power of education and personal growth.

Principal Dr Sr Latha AC, who presided over the programme, took the opportunity to introduce the students to the college's rules, regulations, and the array of activities they can engage in. Her address emphasized the holistic development approach that the college follows, encouraging students to actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

The orientation day provided the students with a well-rounded introduction to college life, combining academic, personal, and social aspects.
