Mangaluru: 77th Independence Day celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Aug 15: The 77th Independence day was celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil with national fervor and patriotism on Tuesday, August 15.

Ramit Chennithala, IRS, deputy commissioner of income tax hoisted the tricolor at the Time Square in the campus and inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he shared his school memories and encouraged the students to work harder to become a better version of themselves in the future. Conveying the greetings of the 77th Independence Day, he urged the students to be honest to their parents.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institution said in his presidential address, "We should be proud of our nation and ensure that India becomes a fully developed country." He motivated the students to be good citizens of India by showing sincerity and hard work in their chosen career paths.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions administered oath to the newly elected members of the students’ parliament. She encouraged the students to be great leaders on their own and contribute to their nation.

Dance, singing of patriotic songs and human pyramid formation by students were part of the cultural programme of the day.

Ankush N Nayak, director, Information and Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Deepika Ankush Nayak, Dr Vijayan Karippal, principal, welcomed the gathering. Master Abhinandu Biju proposed a vote of thanks. Master Gokul G S and  Pavani R Verma compered the formal programme. Arya Kariyannavar hosted the cultural programme. Jasmin Prathiba was the programme director.
