Beltangady: Independence Day celebrated at Holy Redeemer English Medium School

Beltangady, Aug 15: Holy Redeemer English Medium School celebrated the 76th Independence Day in a grandeur on the school grounds.

School pupil leader Dhravya Bhandry, with the school band welcomed and vibrantly escorted the guests, correspondent Fr Walter D'Mello, headmaster Fr Clifford Pinto, parish pastoral council vice president Walter Monis and secretary Gilbert Pinto, parish commission coordinator Pauline Rego and PTA vice president Supriya D'Souza.

 

The programme began by singing the national song 'Vande Mataram'. Followed by it was an auspicious national flag hoisting ceremony and march past by various school squads. Patriotism was solemnly expressed by singing patriotic songs by the school choir and dances depicting patriotism. Merwin D'Souza of Class 8 expressed the importance of Independence Day. Students Preksha of class 9 welcomed the gathering, Deepthi of class 10 proposed the vote of thanks and Yashasvi of class 10 compered the programme. All teaching and non-teaching staff organised and conducted the programme systematically. A good number of parents and parishioners were a part of the celebration.
