Beltangady: Independence Day celebrated at Anugraha Educational Institutions

Beltangady, Aug 15: Anugraha Educational Institutions in Ujire celebrated 77th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and zeal.

The chief guest Subedar Melwin Fernandes accompanied by the principal and the correspondent and the dignitaries unfurled the tricolour followed by the national anthem. This entailed a short celebration including the prize distribution and cultural programme by the students. 

The chief guest Subedar Melwin Fernandes, speaking on the occasion, told the students to understand and cherish the hard-earned freedom and urged them to work towards the progress of the nation. 

Subedar Melwin Fernandes and Anil D'Souza, the recently elected panchayat member were felicitated by the Institution. 

There was a display of patriotic programmes by the students. The winners of various competitions were honoured with medals and certificates. PPC vice president Antony Fernandes, secretary Ligori Vas, PTA vice president Dr Prashanth, management committee members parents and parishioners witnessed the grand celebration Spoorthi Pai of 10th std and Prashamsa of 10th std compered the programme.
