Dubai, Aug 4: The volunteers of Shree Varamahalakshmee Puja Samithi have arranged "Shree Varamahalakshmee Vrutha" to be held on Friday August 12 at JSS School, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. The venue is just behind the Gulf News Office and Shangri La Hotel in Sheikh Zayed Road with ample car parking facility.
The programme is expected to start around 3.30 pm with lighting the lamp and bhajan.
Various bhajan teams are being selected for the ‘Abhang Bhajan’ which will start at around 4 pm and will go on until 6 pm, followed by ‘Puja Sankalpa’ by Sumangali, Shree Vishnu Sahasranama recitation and Shree Mahalakshmee Ashtaka Sthothra until Archane at around 7.30 pm.
Mahamangalarathi, Shobhane Sumangali Araadhane, Kannikaaradhane and Brahmanaraadhane are scheduled at 8 pm.
There will be a Nrithya Roopaka called "Shri Ashta Lakshmi Namosthuthe" by Sumangali at around 8.30 pm followed by prize distribution and Mahaprasada distribution to conclude at 9.30 pm.
All devotees are invited by the organizers to come in large numbers, obtain the grace of Lord Shree Lakshmee Narayana, and seek blessings for a happy, prosperous and healthy life ahead.
About Varamahalakshmee Vratha
Varalaksmee Vratha is a sacred day in Hinduism. The ceremony is performed by married Hindu ladies on the Friday before the full moon in the month of Shravana in the Hindu calendar (corresponding to July/August in the western calendar). Those who cannot perform it on that day, can do it on any other Friday in that month. This is an important Vratha, meaning a vowed religious observance in Sanskrit.
Varamahalakshmee Vratha is performed more commonly in the southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and also in parts of Maharashtra and Orissa.
