Mangaluru: St Ann's High School hosts Hobli Level Throwball Tournament 2023

Mangaluru, Aug 9: The Hobli Level Throwball Tournament 2023 was hosted by St Ann's High School, Bolar on August 8 in the school campus. As many as 26 teams of Bunder, Gandhinagar, Kapikad, Kavoor and Balmatta clusters of Mangalore North Block participated.

The tournament was inaugurated by the block education officer James Cutinha. He encouraged the teams to develop the spirit of true sportsmanship and build teams spirit. The education secretary of Karnataka Province, Sr Sudeepa AC, was the chief guest . The taluk physical education officer Bharath, Bunder cluster CRP, Hemanth Kulal and Pramila EO Mangaluru North were present. The guests were warmly welcomed by the headmistress Sr Ruby A C.

After a day filled with excitement and close matches, the day concluded with a moment the players were waiting for. The valedictory function was presided over by the corporator of Port Ward, Abdul Latif. Ravish Kumar, manager of IOB and Sudha, retired manager were present. The winners were awarded the trophies by Mokara Pradeep Rao, the chief manager of Indian Overseas Bank.

The programmes in the morning and evening were compered by teachers Veena Lobo and Lavina Lobo respectively.

Boys : Winners - St Lawrence English Medium School, Bondel
Runners Up: Vidya Jyothi High School, Kavoor
Girls: Winners: St Lawrence English Medium School, Bondel
Runners Up: Ashoka Vidyalaya English Medium School, Ashoknagar
