Mangalore: Rain Fury Continues Unabated

Mangalore, Aug 4: Almost all the places in Karnataka coast received incessant rains on Wednesday August 3.  Pedestrians had to wade through knee-deep water at several places, while a number of village roads were flooded.

Incidents like collapsed wells and walls, and uprooted trees damaging some buildings, have been reported from some places. Holiday has been declared for educational institutions except colleges all over Kodagu district because of heavy rains, on Thursday August 4.

Castle Rock in Uttara Kannada district received the highest rainfall of 21 cms. Coastal Karnataka received an average rainfall of eight cms.

The meteorological department has predicted heavy rains to continue in Karnataka cost during the next two days, with wind gaining a velocity of between 45 and 55 kms per hour.
